Anyone who has been following the news know that for the past few days Dublin has been under high security due to the American President's visit. As a result, delays in flights and road closures have been expected, and while mine did get off to to a bumpy start yesterday afternoon, resulting in a significant delay arriving in Dublin, I must say that being greeted by the sight of the majestic Air Force 1 plane on the runway was a very pleasant surprise.

While I was busy making my way to Dublin (and feeling a bit bummed that I didn't have my phone handy to take a photo of this rare site), my colleagues and friends and the IALC workshop were also busy attending a full afternoon of interesting seminars aimed at either schools, or agents or both. The highlight of the afternoon seemed to the the Industry Panel Discussion which focused on How agents and schools can work more efficiently together. This discussion had the input and participation of some of the industry's most prominent people.

The evening continued with a party hosted by Emerald Cultural Institute in Dublin, a few minutes away from the hotel where most of the delegates are staying.

And that brings us to this morning! A crisp morning in Dublin (at least for someone who left 20+ degrees back home), but which is already showing signs of a busy day ahead! Delegates have started pouring into the meeting hall, which is  being held at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre within the Radisson Blu Hotel.
